Do you have tooth damage, missing teeth, or few or no teeth still intact? Steven T. Cutbirth DDS provides restorative dentistry that addresses a host of issues.
Restorative dentistry means diagnosing and treating oral diseases. It also means preventing them. In the case of one or more missing teeth, there are several options.
Dental bridges bridge the gap left by one or more missing teeth. It is made of two or more crowns for the teeth on each side of the gap. These anchor the bridge, which is the artificial tooth in between. With a dental bridge, you’ll be able to chew and speak normally, and of course, flash your smile with confidence.
Dental implants are titanium posts attached to your jaw. An artificial tooth sits on top of the post. These are a permanent replacement for a missing tooth, and look and function like a natural one.
Crowns (sometimes called caps) are used when there is enough viable tooth structure that the tooth doesn’t need to be extracted. A crown adds strength to a tooth that has a large filling or has been injured. A crown can correct a bite misalignment and is usually necessary after a root canal. In a dental implant procedure, attaching the crown to the abutment is the final step.
